A CTC Seniors competition was held at Weiner Park in Austria during the weekend of September 23-24, 2017.

Following the unfortunate withdrawal of the Edgbaston Priory, the organizers changed the open draw format into a round robin, which gave all of the participating clubs the opportunity to play against each other. Despite an unfavorable weather forecast, all matches were carried out.

The ties turned out to be very close, and finished up with Kung LTK of Sweden in first position and therefore advancing to take part in next year‘s Winners Group.

The results were: Wiener Park Club d. KLTK 5/4, KLTK d. Carrickmines 9/0 and Wiener Park Club d. Carrickmines 6/3.

All the teams gathered together on Saturday evening at the same club where a typical Austrian buffet was offered and the participants enjoyed a social evening. The two days were a great showcase of sportsmanship with all the participants already committing to take part in next year‘s competitions.
