During the weekend of 7-9 September host club SALK of Stockholm welcomed Fitzwilliam Lawn Tennis Club and Tennis Club Genova 1893 to Sweden for a CTC senior competition.

The tournament was played indoors at Salkhallen, which is one of the largest indoor facilities in the world with its 14 indoor hard courts. Many high-class matches were played, always with great spirit and sportsmanship between the players.

The event could honestly have been conquered by any team, but was finally won by the hosts, who took advantage of the rather fast indoor courts. On the Italian clay the outcome would most certainly have been different and in the precious art of doubles the Irish were the most successful team.

In Sunday┬┤s final SALK defeated Tennis Club Genova 6-3, while Fitzwilliam won by the same score line against a second home team.
