2012 CTC U16 FITZWILLIAM CUP

The 2012 Fitzwilliam Cup for players aged Under 16 was hosted by Kungliga LTK in Stockholm (SWE) from 5-6 October. Unfortunately, two of the four teams scheduled to compete withdrew from the event at short notice, leaving the host club to face the team from Fitzwilliam.

Despite the setback, the fixture between Fitzwilliam u16s and Kungliga u16s was both competitive and enjoyable with the hosts coming out as winners by a score of 11 matches to 6 in a format that was expanded so as to give all players plenty of match practice over the two days of competition.

The visiting team was delighted with the hospitality and organisation of the hosts, and the strong club culture that enabled them to run shoulders with tennis legends like Robin Söderling (pictured), Jonas Bjorkman and Thomas Johansson.
