The 2013 Annual General Meeting of the Centenary Tennis Clubs Association took place on November 29th in Lausanne at the home of the International Olympic Committee.
Guest of honour at the Meeting was International Tennis Federation President Francesco Ricci Bitti, while a representative of the CTC’s principal sponsor, EFG International, attended the subsequent lunch.
The Meeting reflected on another year of growth of for the organisation, and heard reports on the busiest ever year of tournament activities, which now extend around the world, as well as plans for a busy 2014 season.
Six new clubs were accepted as CTC members, bringing the membership total to 71 clubs from 28 countries.The new clubs are the 12,000-member Association Stade Français de Paris (FRA),recent Fed Cup venue the Frankfurter Tennisclub 1914 Palmergarten (GER), Björn Borg’s home club SALK Stockholm Allmänna Lawntennis Klubb (SWE), Mundial Lawn Tennis Club Chile (CHI) founded in 1902, Juan Martín del Potro’s regular practice venue the Tennis Club Argentino (ARG), and the historic Royal Kings Park (AUS), which was founded in 1899 and has hosted many a Davis Cup tie over the years.
