The Centenary Tennis Clubs Association held its 18h Annual General Meeting in Lausanne on Saturday November 22nd, 2014
The meeting was highlighted by the Committee of Management elections, at which current President Juan Maria Tintoré of the Real Club de Tenis Barcelona-1899 was re-elected to serve the organisation from 2014-2017. He will be joined on the committee by founder club representatives Lars Myhrman (Kung LTK), Guido Schultz (LTTC Rot Weiss Berlin), Laurence Goulard (Racing Club de France) and Donald Macloed (Cumberland LTC), and member clubs representatives Garbhan O’Nuallain (Fitzwilliam LTC), Maurizio Romeo (TC Parioli), Petr Simunek (CTC Vice President, I. Cesky LTK) and Pedro Navedo (CTC Treasurer, Real Sociedad de Tenis la Magdalena). Mr. Jurgen Butkus, from TC Geneve was named CTC Honorary Life Counselor.
Two new clubs were accepted into the Association; Malahide Lawn Tennis & Croquet Club, Dublin (Ireland) and Salzburger Tennisclub, Salzburg (Austria), bringing the total number of member Clubs to 68.
The Assembly heard details of how the organisation’s 2014 activities progressed, including details of the first-ever CTC Competition in South America. 2015 looks set to be another year of growth for the Association in terms of club activities with members such as Rot Weiss Berlin (GER), ICLTK (CZE), Carrickines (IRL), RCTB 1899 (ESP), TC Parioli (ITA), West Side Tennis Club (USA), The Wanderers (RSA) and TC Argentino (ARG) among those to have already offered to host events. The Royal Kings Park (AUS) has also expressed an interest in organizing a CTC event with the participation of eight different Clubs for the beginning of the 2016 year.
