2019 Annual General Meeting in Lausanne

The Centenary Tennis Clubs Association (CTC) held its 23rd Annual General Meeting in Lausanne on Saturday 16th November, 2019.

Four new clubs were accepted as members of the Association; Tennis Club Stade Lausanne (Switzerland), Club de Tennis las Terrazas Miraflores (Peru), Seabright Lawn Tennis and Cricket Club, (USA) and Sutter Lawn Tennis Club, (USA). This brings the number of Centenary Tennis Clubs to a total of 75.

The Assembly heard details of the organisation’s activities in 2019, including the successful staging of the CTC Senior Winners’ Group at TC Genève, and the second event of the Association in Ecuador, held at the Guayaquil Tennis Club.

Looking ahead, 2020 looks set to be another year of growth, with member clubs including Carrickmines (Ireland), I. CLTK Prague (Czech Republic), Guayaquil (Ecuador) and RCTB-1899 (Spain) amongst those to have already committed to staging events.

During a busy day, the Committee of Management also had the opportunity to meet with the representative of the Association’s main sponsor, E. Gutzwiller & Cie, Banquiers.

The CTC is an umbrella group of tennis clubs that are more than 100 years old and includes some of the prestigious and best-known clubs in the sport. Initially founded by eight members as a pan-European association, the organisation now has an extensive and truly global membership and is affiliated to Tennis Europe and recognised by the sport’s governing body, the International Tennis Federation.
