From 17th to 19th July, Roehampton Club was delighted to host the CTC 35+/45+ Competition, welcoming teams from Real Club de Tenis Barcelona-1899, LTTC Rot-Weiss Berlin, and Biarritz Olympique for a weekend of outstanding tennis on the Club’s renowned grass courts.
The event began on Friday with Real Club de Tenis Barcelona-1899 taking on LTTC Rot-Weiss Berlin, while Roehampton Club faced Biarritz Olympique in the opening fixtures. Throughout the weekend, players produced some excellent, competitive tennis, with every match played in a fantastic spirit of sportsmanship and camaraderie.
Following the opening rounds, Roehampton Club and RCTB-1899 progressed to Sunday’s final. The championship match proved to be a thrilling contest, with both teams battling across all nine rubbers. In the end, Real Club de Tenis Barcelona-1899 edged a closely fought final 5–4 to lift the trophy.
The weekend was a tremendous success, with players enjoying not only the competitive tennis but also the opportunity to experience the prestigious grass courts at Roehampton Club. Off the court, the event provided a wonderful opportunity for members of the four historic clubs to socialise, strengthen friendships, and celebrate the spirit of international club tennis.
