Sarajevo recalls its tragedy

The President of the Centenary Tennis Clubs Association, Juan Maria Tintoré, joined the Delegation of the Council of his city, Barcelona, in attending events held recently to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the siege of the city of Sarajevo.

Empty red chairs represented each of the 11,541 victims, as the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina marked the anniversary of the beginning of the three-year siege of their capital city by Serbian troops that began on April 6th 1992.

Juan Maria Tintoré, an Honorary Citizen of Sarajevo, founded the RCT-Barcelona Sarajevo junior tennis tournament in 1997.
