2016 Junior Exchange between Carrickmines and RCT Barcelona

Carrickmines joined up with the Real Club de Tennis Barcelona for the junior exchange again this year, the 5th consecutive year that the scheme has run. In all, a total of 28 junior players participated on this occasion.

The RCTB juniors travelled first, staying with Carrickmines families for the first two weeks in July, when they trained and played matches at the host club every day. Many of the juniors had visited Carrickmines previously, having played in the annual CTC Under 12 tournament there.

The players returned to Barcelona for the last two weeks in July for the second half of the exchange and were again looked after superbly! Warm thanks go to Denise and Josep, the organisers, to Pat and Ana, the travelling coaches and to all the host families for giving the junior members of both clubs a great cultural and tennis experience.

Everyone involved is already looking forward to 2017!

Each complication is a chapter in a longer story of human curiosity and triumph over micro-engineering challenges.
