On 22 March, the Centenary Tennis Clubs (CTC) held a productive brainstorming session, which focused on improving efficiency, updating the mission statement and reviewing the exponential growth of the association.
Key discussions included strengthening relations with international tennis organisations, the promotion of friendly matches between the CTC member clubs, including the creation of another category of competitions for the 65+/70+ seniors, and holding one-to-one meetings with prospective clubs prior to admission. The CTC also intends to continue its online colloquiums, the CTC Tennis Weekend solidarity action in October and its exchange and Erasmus programmes.
The meeting also had time to review the progress of the Green Tennis project, which aims to reduce the environmental footprint and transform tennis into a leading example of how sport can drive meaningful environmental change.
The President of the Association, Mr. Jordi Cambra (RCTB-1899), hosted the meeting and was joined, in person and online, by CTC Vice President, Mr. Petr Simunek (I CLTK Prague); Mr. Lars Mhyrman (former president of KLTK); Mr. Marc Gouzer of TC Geneve (online); Mr. Pedro Navedo (RST La Magdalena): Mr. Guido Schulz (Rot-Weiss Berlin); Mr. Donald Macleod of Cumberland LTC (online); Mr. Matteo Carli (TC Padova); Mr. Guillaume Bouffard (Villa Primrose), CTC Counsellor, Mr. Marco Gilardelli, and the general Secretary of the Association, Mrs. Berta Tintoré.
