Coinciding with the celebration of the ATP Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell, the President of the Centenary Tennis Clubs Association and RCTB-1899 Jordi Cambra met with the CTC’s Committee of Management.
Among the topics on the meeting’s agenda was the announcement of the 2023 competition calendar, which highlights the CTC Winners Group in Salk with the participation of the area winners of last year in the category of seniors 35/45.
Six teams will compete for the CTC Trophy and those will be TC Padova 1912, Real Club de Polo de Barcelona, Villa Primrose, Rot Weiss Berlin and I Cesky Lawn Tennis Club. In addition to some other area groups in the category 50/60, the traditional meeting between English and Irish clubs will take place in Carrickmines in September 2.
The program of the year also includes a CTC weekend, an initiative to host on the same weekend an activity within each club to promote the sport of tennis and the values that the sport instils, sportsmanship, strategy, discipline, concentration, respect for the others and solidarity.
The members of the committee also had the opportunity to assess the topics of the future colloquiums between the member clubs, an initiative that emerged during the pandemic that has turned out to be highly valued by the different clubs.
The meeting was attended by Petr Simunek, CTC Vice President & I.CTLK Prague, Lars Myhrman of Kung Lawn Tennis Klubben, Guido Shulz of Rot Weiss Berlin, Donald Macleod of Cumberland LTC , Pedro Navedo of RST La Magdalena, Marco Gilardelli, CTC Counselor, the President and CEO of Tennium, Mr. Kristoff Puelinckx and the General Secretary of the Association, Berta Tintore.
Founded in 1996 by eight European clubs, the CTC has 84 clubs on five continents. Affiliated to the European Federation and recognized by the ITF, the Association has grown exponentially in recent years.
