The Centenary Tennis Clubs Association (CTC) held its 24th Annual General Meeting on Saturday November 7th, 2020.
The meeting was held online for the first time because of the COVID-19 pandemic and attracted representatives from 24 of the Association’s member clubs around the world.

The new Committee will convene for its first meeting next week, when a new President will be named to replace the organisation’s founder Juan María Tintoré, who passed away earlier this year and was the subject of a moving tribute from the Assembly.
Two new clubs were accepted as members of the Association: Ottawa Tennis & Lawn Bowling Club in Canada and Le Touquet in France. This brings the total number of member clubs to 74 in 5 continents.
The Assembly heard details of the organisation’s activities in a year that has been heavily disrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic. The Association organises a wide variety of international friendly tournaments each year, open to member clubs and catering for participants of all age groups and levels, ranging in age from Under 12s to ‘Super Seniors’.
Looking ahead, 2021 looks set to be a more active year, with plans already underway for events in Sweden and Spain.
The CTC is an umbrella group of clubs that have more than 100 years of history and includes some of the most prestigious and best-known clubs in the sport. Initially founded by eight members as a pan-European association, the CTC now has an extensive and truly global membership, is affiliated to Tennis Europe and recognised by the sport’s governing body, the International Tennis Federation.
