The Centenary Tennis Clubs Association held its third colloquium on Wednesday 22nd February. The online presentation for member clubs was focused on the topic of digitalization of tennis clubs. The colloquium was led by Erik Poel, CEO of the Royal Dutch Lawn Tennis Federation, involved in taskforces both at ITF and Tennis Europe and active volunteer in tennis clubs for more than 40 years.
Mr. Poel explained his experience and expertise on this topic along with the participation of Nanette Farwerck-Bergwerf on behalf of the member club H.L.T.C. Leimonias, who have implemented the initiatives presented.
The starting point of this workshop is that society is changing: traditional memberships are changing, sporting needs are different, people have different needs, technological innovations are taking place, people are getting older and it is getting harder to get volunteers.
As a result, the Royal Dutch Lawn Tennis Federation has decided to put the customer or player at the center and make it easier for them at every stage of their journey. In this way, they have launched both a website and an app where players, members or non-members can find information about the different clubs in the country. They have created an ecosystem that embraces players and members at different levels of engagement. Among these facilities are: finding a club near you, meet and play, book courts or activities and offer different memberships.
Delegates from CTC member clubs, interested in the topic, attended this online meeting, which also had a question and answer session, in which the speakers provided answers on the spot.
CTC President Jordi Cambra said, “We are very happy and excited that a lot of members are interested in this colloquium. I am sure that this workshop is very important and convenient for all of us”.
