Athens Lawn Tennis Club hosted teams from LTC Festina, TC Bologna (ITA) and Cumberland LTC (IRL) during the weekend of September 28-30 for a CTC Seniors competition.
Sadly, the weekend was hit by unseasonal heavy rains, and the competition was cut short. The players were able to get some brief practice time, but it was not possible to complete the event. A lack of on-court time meant that the visitors were able to take full advantage of the social programme that had been prepared by the hosts, ensuring that on this occasion at least, the bonds of friendship at this CTC event were forged over dinner rather than across the net.
