TC Venezia hosted three other CTC clubs during the weekend of 1-2 October for a CTC Senior competition.
Saturday’s qualifying matches saw Barcelona prevail over Genoa and Santander over Venice. The day’s play ended with an aperitif on the terrace of the Grand Hotel Excelsior, before a fish dinner at the restaurant «da Valentino» of the Venice Lido.
Sunday’s finals saw Barcelona come out on top in the Spanish derby, despite Santander winning the two Over 35 men’s singles matches. The host club was beaten in to fourth place in the play-off with Genoa.
The players enjoyed two fun days, characterized by a friendly atmosphere and with matches that showed a very high level of tennis. Fortunately for all, the weather was also sunny.
TC Venezia hopes to stage the competition again in the near future.
