CTC U14 RCTB-1899 Cup

Carrickmines Lawn Tennis Club of Ireland claimed victory at the annual CTC Under 14 RCTB-1899 Cup, held from 2-4 September at the Real Club de Tenis Barcelona.

In addition to the hosts and the eventual champions, teams from three other clubs were in action, with squads from Roehampton Club (GBR), Rott-Weiss Berlin (GER) and RC Polo Barcelona (ESP) also taking part.

This eighth edition of the tournament was directed by Marc Visiedo. Centenary Tennis Clubs President Juan María Tintoré, and Pep Costa, member of the RCTB-1899 Board of Directors, were on hand to present the trophies. Mr. Tintoré made a special mention of the delegation from Rott-Weiss Berlin, which was the first club to ever organise a CTC competition in 1998, and of the club in Carrickmines, which hosts a CTC Under 12 event on artificial grass each year.

The players were also able to enjoy a packed social program, and a taste of the sport of Padel at the host club.
