The third edition of the Clubs Tennis Weekend by CTC has been held in October at various clubs around the world. Here are some of the most outstanding events of this solidarity initiative, which has already consolidated its place in the annual agenda of Centenary Tennis Clubs. Many thanks to all those who have joined the initiative in which tennis and solidarity come together.
REAL CLUB DE TENIS BARCELONA-1899
The Real Club de Tenis Barcelona-1899 hosted a weekend that was once again a success for the participants. The format: a fun day of training with the coaches of the RCTB-1899 Tennis School, followed by a mixed doubles team tournament on Sunday morning.
As usual, the competition was intense. But there was also room for laughter and camaraderie. The event ended with an aperitif that everyone enjoyed.
The proceeds will go to the ‘Ulls del Món’ Foundation, an organisation that fights against avoidable, preventable and curable blindness in some of the world’s most vulnerable areas.

LADIES’ RECREATION CLUB
In a heartwarming display of support for the Pink Ribbon Breast Cancer Foundation, the LRC recently hosted two events that brought the community together for a great cause. The first event, a Mixed Doubles tournament held on Saturday, October 19th, saw 36 pairs enthusiastically competing. This was followed by a Ladies Doubles event on October 21st, which attracted 38 pairs, further emphasizing the community’s commitment to raising awareness and funds for breast cancer research.
The atmosphere during these two days was nothing short of electrifying, with participants and spectators alike coming together to show their support. The generous donations from sponsors and patrons not only added to the excitement but also contributed significantly to the funds raised for the foundation through engaging lucky draws.

CUMBERLAND LAWN TENNIS CLUB
Cumberland Lawn Tennis Club (CLTC) held another Nations Cup event to celebrate the CTC weekend.
There were 36 players from 19 countries competing in a doubles team event. There were teams from England, Australia, India, Zimbabwe, South Africa, USA, Mexico, Scotland, Wales, Ireland and teams from Eastern and Western Europe.
After some hard-fought competition, the Americas team (USA and Mexico) came out on top.
Over £350 was raised for Greenhouse Sports, a local charity that provides sporting opportunities for disadvantaged children.

CLUB TENIS BARCINO
CT Barcino was once again involved in the initiative, and after the official presentation of the Barcelona club’s youth teams, a ‘desperate’ tournament was held with great success, a very popular format for pairs in the city, in which students and their families took part. A Fila 0 was also set up for those who wished to participate without taking part in the tournament.
The money raised for Mans Unides will go to an eye health project in India.
