Memorial Drive Tennis Club – A Proud New Member

Memorial Drive Tennis Club is honoured to join the prestigious Centenary Tennis Clubs and to take our place among a group of iconic clubs that share a deep respect for tennis tradition, excellence and sportsmanship.

Located in the heart of Adelaide, our club sits within one of Australia’s most historic tennis precincts. Memorial Drive has hosted many prestigious events, including the Davis Cup and the Australian Championships, now known as the Australian Open. For more than a century, the venue has been synonymous with tennis in South Australia, providing a stage for elite competition while nurturing generations of players who share a passion for the game. Today the club continues to evolve while remaining proud of its heritage and its place in the sporting life of our city.

It has been a particularly exciting year for our club. Our Memorial Drive Open Championships were recognised nationally with the Newcombe Award for Most Outstanding Tournament of the Year. The Newcombe Medal Awards represent the highest honours in Australian tennis, celebrating excellence across the sport each year. This recognition reflects the dedication of our volunteers, tournament team and players in delivering an event of the highest quality and professionalism.

While we are proud of our history, we are equally excited about the future. Joining the Centenary Tennis Clubs offers a wonderful opportunity to strengthen connections with like-minded clubs around the world that value competition, camaraderie and the traditions of our sport.

On behalf of everyone at Memorial Drive Tennis Club, we look forward to building lasting relationships within the Centennial community and to welcoming fellow members to our historic courts in Adelaide in the years ahead.
