Throughout the year there will be a full calendar of activities to celebrate the anniversary.
The Gala that kicked off the 125th anniversary celebrations of the Real Club de Tenis Barcelona-1899 reviewed the history of the Club in five acts (five sets), referring to the values, the relationship of tennis and the club with art and music, a review of the main sporting achievements and a look to the future.
With performances by pianist Ignasi Cambra, dancer Sol Picó, a quartet from the Conservatori del Liceu, two musicians from the Fundació Pau Casals and several audiovisual pieces, the event was a dynamic review of the 125 years of the club. And the fifth set featured the players from the Club’s school, with a choreography that projected a glimpse of the future.
To close the event, tenor Nacho Guzmán and pianist Miguel Ángel Dionis sang Nessum Dorma while the images of the Godó champions diving into the RCTB-1899 pool were recalled.
The event was attended, in addition to the members, by the vice-president of the Generalitat de Catalunya Laura Vilagrà, the deputy mayor of Barcelona City Council Maria Eugènia Gay, the sports councillor of Barcelona City Council David Escudé, the Board of Directors of the Real Club de Tenis Barcelona-1899, the president of the Spanish Tennis Federation (RFET), the president of the Federació Catalana de Tennis as well as directors of the different clubs and sports entities of the city, sponsors and collaborators of the Club.
