UK-Ireland competition at Roehampton

Roehampton Club hosted the UK and Irish CTC competition on Saturday 20th August.

The event involved 4 other clubs, Winchester, Cumberland, Edgbaston Priory and Carrickmines, who made the trip over from Ireland. The competition saw the clubs competing across three age categories, Men’s, and Ladies Open, Men’s and Ladies over 45s and Men’s and Ladies over 55’s.

Fortunately the sun came out in London and all matches were able to be played on Roehampton’s prestigious grass courts. It was a close competition with some great tennis played throughout the day across all levels, with Roehampton eventually able to make use of their home advantage and emerge victorious.

After the tennis, players made use of the other facilities at Roehampton Club with some fun but very competitive games of padel tennis. The day finished up with a 2-course evening meal and social drinks, with Carrickmines providing the evening entertainment with some singing and dancing.
