Jordi Cambra, who is both president of RCTB-1899 and of the Association of Centenary Clubs, took the opportunity presented by the Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell 2026 to convene a meeting of the Association of Centenary Clubs’ Committee.
Among the topics discussed at the meeting was the announcement of the 2026 competition calendar, which features a total of 69 participating teams. This is an increase on the previous year, when 56 teams took part. Most of the competitions will take place in Europe. Of these, the CTC Winners Group Seniors 35/45 competition, which will be held at the Wiener Athletiksports Club in Vienna on 28–29 August, is particularly notable. Elsewhere, the association has organised a competition at the Yokohama International Club. The committee also reviewed progress on developing the Green Tennis Guide, which is designed to promote environmental awareness among clubs.
Those in attendance at the meeting included Petr Šimůnek (CTC Vice-President, I CLTK Prague), Lars Myhrman (KUNG LTK), Guido Schulz (LTTC Rot-Weiss Berlin), Guillaume Boufard (Villa Primrose), Tom Hamilton (Fitzwilliam), Simon Curtis (Cumberland, online), Matteo Carli (TC Padova, online), Marc Gouzer (TC Genève, online) and Marco Gilardelli (CTC Counselor), as well as the Association’s General Secretary, Berta Tintoré.
The CTC was founded in 1996 by eight European clubs and now comprises 98 clubs across four continents. Affiliated to the European Federation and recognised by the ITF, the Association has grown exponentially in recent years.
