As the world adapts to life during the COVID-19 pandemic, CTC clubs are making tentative steps to re-open their facilities and bring back recreational tennis to lovers of the sport.
As of 25th May 2020, play is permitted in 23 of the 28 CTC nations worldwide. In all cases, safety restrictions – established by the national tennis association of each country – must be observed.
These recommendations usually include:
• Distancing measures: remain at least 1.5m from your opponent during play, avoid shaking hands
• Hygiene precautions: hand sanitizer and soap should be provided, do not share equipment/water bottles etc.
• Digitalisation: adopt online booking/payment measures and consider closing other facilities in the club, such as changing rooms, restaurants and reception
You can find a summary of the main recommendations here. If you are unsure, we recommend that you visit the Tennis Europe or International Tennis Federation websites in order to discover the exact procedures in your territory.
We hope that you enjoy your return to the courts and look forward to offering CTC competitions just as soon as is safe to do so.
