This year’s final group of the CTC Senior Competition 35+/45+ was played on the clay courts of the oldest Czech tennis club – I. Český Lawn-Tennis Klub Praha – with the participation of the defending champion TC Padova, one of the founding members of the Centenary Tennis Clubs – Cumberland LTC and the home team I. ČLTK Praha, on August 30–31, 2025. The teams competed in a round-robin format.
The winner was TC Padova, who defeated Cumberland LTC 7–2 and the home team I. ČLTK 5–4, thus claiming their fourth consecutive victory in the Winners group of the CTC Senior Competition 35+/45+. With this win, TC Padova matched I. ČLTK Praha’s tally of four victories, and is now only one title behind TC Parioli, who have won five times. I. ČLTK Praha finished in second place after defeating Cumberland LTC 6–3.
Over the two days, we witnessed matches of a very high standard, as evidenced by the presence of former ATP/WTA Top 100 players, including Maria Elena Camerin (WTA 41), Alessandro Gianessi (ATP 84), Jan Hernych (ATP 59), and Jan Vacek (ATP 61).
The atmosphere throughout the event was very friendly, culminating in the festive Saturday dinner, where team captains exchanged gifts and new friendships were formed. As Petr Šimůnek – CTC Vice President and President of the hosting club – said during the Saturday dinner, the event took place in the true spirit of the CTC, where the social side is just as important as the sporting one. He also emphasized that all three clubs, through their regular participation in CTC tournaments, contribute greatly to its success and to the steadily growing interest in CTC membership among tennis clubs from around the world.
