TC Venezia’s CTC +35/+45 experiences another triumph of Cumberland LTC

The CTC Senior 35+/45+ took place at the Tennis Club Venezia from 27th to 29th September and featured the hosts, Cumberland LTC, LTTC Rot Weiss Berlin, The Northern LTC, TC Geneve and Fitzwilliam LTC.

The tournament was played in a 35/45 format with four singles and three doubles and The Northern took a spectacular third place on their debut at an overseas Centenary Tennis Club event. Winners once again were Cumberland LTC in what has been a magical September for the London club as they beat TC Geneve.

Carla Saveri of the ‘Club delle Balette’ (promoted by the Italian journalist icon Gianni Clerici) attended the Saturday evening party at the club’s headquarters, bringing a ‘baletta’ (ancestor of the tennis ball, circa 1500) and typical products from her region, the Marche.
