The GreenTennis project partners met at Warsaw

The GreenTennis project partners met on 16th October at the headquarters of Mobad (Mobile Adventure) in Warsaw, Poland.

The group was provided with an extensive update on the research and fieldwork that has been carried out recently led by UCAM (Catholic University of Murcia). Initial findings into two surveys – of young players, and of clubs/managers/coaches – were also presented.

The surveys elicited more 500 responses from players, coaches and club managers from all over Europe, and focused on the attitudes and behaviours of individuals involved in tennis in a variety of roles.

Key findings showed that players had strong environmental awareness and positive attitudes, but low self-efficacy. They knew about sustainability, but lacked the confidence or guidance to act. Analysis of the data has enlightened the researchers on the current conditions across Europe and will serve to inform future activities. Detailed findings of the surveys will be published soon.

The group also discussed the next steps, including upcoming work on the GreenTennis facility and event toolkits and guides as well as further work on the development of educational and awareness raising resources.

The next meeting is planned to take place online at the beginning of 2026.
