The host team, LTTC Rot-Weiss, won the CTC Friendly Doubles held in Berlin

On September 5–6, LTTC Rot-Weiss had the pleasure of hosting one of CTC’s newest formats: the Friendly Doubles.

Played exclusively in doubles and decided in a single set, this format is all about friendship, fair play and the joy of competing together.

Our guests

As a proud founding member of CTC, LTTC Rot-Weiss was delighted to welcome:

  • HLTC Leimonias from The Hague – fondly remembered for the wonderful 2017 CTC tournament and many other encounters.
  • East Gloucestershire Club – or, as we all mastered over the weekend, simply the East Glos Club.
  • Westside Lawn Tennis Club from Wimbledon, London.

A weekend of Tennis and Friendship

The weekend began on Friday evening in the lounge of the Steffi Graf Stadium, where old friends were warmly welcomed and new connections quickly made.

On Saturday, under perfect weather, matches were played with discipline, skill and, above all, great fairness and enjoyment. Between the matches, our lake proved to be the ideal spot to refresh, and in the evening the barbecue was a true highlight.

And the Result?

True to the Friendly Doubles spirit, the results were less important than the shared experience. All teams can be called winners – yet this time, the trophy stayed in Berlin. Sorry, dear friends!

Once again, a wonderful CTC tournament brought people together, creating memories and friendships across borders.

The tourbillon, invented to counteract gravity’s effect on accuracy, is a mesmerizing rotating cage for the escapement, a whirlwind of technical prowess that symbolizes the watchmaker’s quest for perfection. Each complication is a chapter in a longer story of human curiosity and triumph over micro-engineering challenges.
