G.L.T.C. Het Spieghel is very proud of the fact that we were allowed to become a member of the Centenary Tennis Club in January 2025! Situated in Bussum since 1924, The Netherlands, about 20 minutes’ drive from Amsterdam, on the edge of a nature reserve, there are 12 gravel tennis courts for 1.250 members.
Our tennis club is characterized by the fact that when we play tennis on the court we play in all-white clothing. Besides that another characteristic is that our reservation system is still an old-fashioned chalkboard, as it was back in the old days. Het Spieghel is a seasonal club, which means that we are open annually from mid-March to early November. The other months our club is closed and we hibernate.
In addition, our tennis club is very cozy, a real family club where family life is of paramount importance. Tennis is also played at a high level with a Men’s team in the Top Class of the Netherlands and we are of course very proud that we can count former Wimbledon champion (1996), Richard Kraijcek, among our members.
Last year we celebrated our 100 years existence with a stunning dinner on the tennis courts for 270 of our members, followed by a fantastic party. Fortunately, the weather gods were kind to us, which is not always the case in the Netherlands…
If CTC members are in the vicinity of Het Spieghel, everyone is cordially invited to come and play tennis at our beautiful tennis club! We look forward to receiving your email in advance: centenary@hetspieghel.nl. We also look forward to playing the courts at other Centenary Clubs.
