The CTC Venezia a club that joined the Association on the year 2021 was again the host of a wonderful CTC event this time on the 50/60 Seniors category. Under the leadership of Alvise Pasqualin, counselor of Tc Venezia the club hosed RCT Barcelona and RCP Barcelona1899, Carrickmines CLTC Dublin, Tennis Club Padova and RST La Magdalena of Santander.
The team match format included (over 50 men’s singles, over 60 men’s singles, over 50 women’s singles, over 60 women’s singles, over 50 men’s doubles and mixed doubles). The organization was able to combine the numerous team participants in some days of outstanding competition and connivance.
All the teams were able to enjoy a gala dinner in the Excelsior stucco room where the official ranking was proclaimed after the two round robin groups. It saw the two Spanish teams of Barcelona in the first two places, the Irish teams of Dublin in third and an excellent fourth place for the Venetians; Tc Padova follows in fifth, fresh from winning the European title for the second consecutive year in Stockholm, with a totally different and younger team; Real Sociedad de Tenis de la Magdalena of Santander brings up the rear. The teams also had the opportunity at the same dinner to express their gratitude to the organization. The CTC Association Secretary also offered the President of TC Venezia Mr. Enrico Zanetti a drawing of the Olympic painter Mr. Jordi Aluma. Finally, the RCTB 1899 claimed the Tournament by a score of 4 to 2 to the RC Polo of Barcelona.
